Teaching Presence in Relationship

From October 10–18, 2025, mindfulness instructors will gather at the Casa de Espiritualidad de Santa María de Huerta in Soria, Spain, for a unique professional training: Teaching Presence in Relationship. Led and organized by Florence Meleo-Meyer, Phyllis K. Hicks, with the support of Beatriz Vega, this immersive experience is designed to prepare qualified mindfulness teachers to lead the 8-week Interpersonal Mindfulness Program (IMP).

Grounded in the practice of Insight Dialogue, this training helps participants integrate meditative awareness into relational contexts, fostering deeper presence, compassion, and freedom. Through guided practices, theoretical exploration, and experiential learning, instructors will expand their skills in relational mindfulness and refine their capacity to teach and support their own program participants effectively.

The program is structured in two parts: a four-day retreat held in noble silence, where participants experience the Insight Dialogue Guidelines, followed by a four-day training period emphasizing practice, teaching skills, and community building. This format allows participants to immerse themselves in the meditative depth of relational mindfulness while developing professional competencies.

With a commitment to building a Spanish-speaking teaching community, the training will be conducted in English with Spanish translation. Qualified mindfulness instructors interested in advancing their skills and becoming IMP teachers are encouraged to apply by March 31, 2025.
